According to a statement from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, officials from Pakistan and Qatar met on Friday to address matters pertaining to their reviewed collaboration in the security domain.

The meeting between Minister of State for Interior, Qatar Abdul Aziz Bin Faisal Bin Mohammed Al Thani and Jawad Sohrab Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, was reported in the statement.

According to the statement, it was “a momentous occasion for bilateral collaboration and economic development.”

The SAPM commended the minister on a job well done in hosting the FIFA World Cup 2022 during the meeting. He emphasized how the 2022 World Cup will set an example for other nations to follow with its high standards.

In addition to highlighting the diaspora’s vital contribution to Qatar’s infrastructure development, the SAPM announced its desire to keep supplying highly qualified and experienced labor to help Qatar’s economic modernization.

In order to guarantee the continuous movement of Pakistani laborers to Qatar, the SAPM suggested the creation of more Qatar Visa Centers (QVCs) throughout Pakistan, with a focus on Peshawar and Lahore during the initial stage.

Furthermore, the SAPM reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Qatar’s position by applauding Qatar’s humanitarian initiatives and dedication to the Gaza crisis. In addition, he invited the minister to come to Pakistan.

The state minister emphasized the common values between Qataris and Pakistanis while acknowledging the important contribution of the Pakistani diaspora to Qatar’s growth.

The minister emphasized the two nations’ long-standing partnerships in trade, the economy, and defense cooperation.

He stated that a feasibility study is being conducted to ascertain the possibility of opening more QVCs in Pakistan, and that the suggestion pertaining to the QVCs is being considered.

Additionally, the statement stated that “topics of mutual interest and reviewed cooperation in security fields were discussed alongwith ways to support and develop them.”

It also stated, “The Pakistani ambassador to Qatar and community welfare attachés accompanied the SAPM during the meeting.”
