Following The Academy’s decision to not nominate Margot Robbie or Greta Gerwig in their respective categories, Robbie made her first public appearance.
The actress went out with Ryan Gosling and fellow Barbie co-stars Rhea Perlman, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, and Kate McKinnon for a special screening and Q&A session held by the Academy Museum in Los Angeles.
For the evening, the Australian actress complemented her Barbie t-shirt with bright pink heels and trousers and a blazer.
Margot’s presence follows Greta’s and her failure to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Actress and Best Director, respectively.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Ryan, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, attacked the Academy, saying, “There is no Barbie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, and there is no Ken without Barbie.”
Ryan is “infuriated,” but he won’t renounce his nomination, an insider told Daily Mail. “He is sticking by his statement and understands people are upset because he is upset as well, but he is not going to be swayed by what anyone is saying online,” the insider continued.
The tipster continued, “He will honor Margot and Greta in one way or another if he does win or if he performs I’m Just Ken.”
