RAWALPINDI: The top military commanders have vowed to prevent anyone from using violence to further their political agenda or to undermine the important democratic process of holding free and fair elections.
The 262nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC), which was held on Wednesday at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, was presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, according to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The deployment of the Pakistan Army to support the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in ensuring a peaceful conduct of the general elections was another topic of discussion among the corps commanders.
“The Pakistan Army will carry out its assigned tasks in accordance with the constitutional mandate and the ECP’s recommendations.
