Following a difficult 12-round fight in London, Wardley was able to hold onto his British heavyweight title.
This kept both men unbeaten, but Clarke was not thrilled with the split-decision tie; he was knocked down and deducted a point.
According to Clarke, “I’d love a rematch,” 5 Live Boxing. “I am not fond of drawings. I don’t believe draws are beneficial in boxing.”
He continued: “I think there was enough there for the people judging the fight to make a decision, personally.”
Wardley received 114-113 from one judge, Clarke received 115-112, and a third judge gave Wardley 113-113.
Wardley struggled with a severe cut on his body for the whole of the battle.
