This Christmas, the comedy, which debuted between 2007 and 2010 and had a Christmas special in 2019, will make a comeback for its last episode.
It centers on the romance between Stacey West (Joanna Page), a resident of the South Wales town where most of the filming is done, and Essex youngster Gavin Shipman (Matthew Horne).
Series co-creator Ruth Jones thanked fans in a social media video for being “so patient” as they gathered to watch filming on Trinity Street.
She claimed that since we have been indoors, you haven’t seen anything, proving that you are ardent, sincere fans of the show.
And when everything is unveiled on Christmas Day, we hope you won’t be let down.
We’ve had a great 17 years together, but you won’t be seeing us here anymore. It’s been amazing, she continued.
Co-writer of the comedy alongside Jones, James Corden, expressed gratitude to bystanders, saying, “Thank you very much for everything, we’ll see you soon.”
Cast members Page, Rob Brydon, Melanie Walters, and Robert Wilford joined them.
Larry Lamb, Alison Steadman, and Horne are among the other stars of the show.
