In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the venerable program, Winkler cracked a joke at the introduction of the two. The “Happy Days” theme tune didn’t seem to welcome Winkler and Howard to the stage, which was a recreation of a scene from Arnold’s Drive-In.
Pratt & McClain’s tune began to play when Winkler pressed the onstage jukebox.
Howard has won three Emmys, and Winkler had three nominations for the show because of his performance in “Happy Days.”

From 1974 until 1984, the program made American homes happy. Audiences watched the Cunninghams for ten years as they managed their lives as a middle-class family in the 1950s and 1960s in Wisconsin. The show continues to draw in viewers because, for a great number of them, it harkens back to a simpler era.
In addition to its own fame, the show was instrumental in the beginning of the careers of its renowned actors. After the show ended fifty years ago, Howard rose to prominence as a Hollywood director, while Winkler gained popularity with a new generation of viewers with “Barry.”
