RAWALPINDI: Two troops accepted death in a suicide bombing of a security force convoy in Dera Ismail Khan, according to the military’s media wing.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), a vehicle-borne suicide bomber blew himself up on the convoy on March 21 (Thursday).
“Resultantly, two brave sons of soil, Naib Subedar Yasir Shakeel, 38, resident of District Kohat, and Sepoy Tahir Naveed, 34, resident of District Kohat, embraced shahadat (martyrdom),” a statement from the ISPR said.
The military’s media wing stated that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism, and that the brave troops’ sacrifices enhance their determination.
“Moreover, the perpetrators of this cowardly attack will be brought to justice,” the statement continued.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur area, killing one terrorist and injuring two others, according to the ISPR.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation occurred on the night of March 20–21.
