More salad kits have been added to the recall that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency started last week over potential listeria contamination.
Dole’s Chop!Chop Avocado Ranch salad kit and President’s Choice’s Southwest salad kits are among the most recent items to be recalled. Each of the three is available across the country.
The Salsa! Ensalada kit from Fresh Express, which was marketed in British Columbia and Alberta, is also being recalled by the inspection body.
Following a listeria incident in the US, Mexican-style corn salad kits and bean dip were recalled in Canada.
Rojo’s Black Bean 6 Layer dip, President’s Choice, and Taylor Farms Mexican-style Street Corn Salad kits are among the other products that were recalled last week.
No diseases have been reported in Canada: CFIA
Among the impacted goods is cheese manufactured by Rizo-Lopez Foods, which is thought to be the cause of the current listeria outbreak in the US.
According to the food inspection agency, these goods have not been linked to any diseases in Canada.
It states that owners of the recalled goods should either return or discard them.
According to the EPA, listeria-contaminated food can still cause illness even if it doesn’t appear or smell rotten.
Vomiting, fever, aches in the muscles, excruciating headaches, and stiff necks are some of the symptoms.
The government advises anyone who believes they may have become ill after eating recalled goods to get medical help.
