KARACHI: On November 24 in Islamabad, Pakistan will play host to the inaugural South Asian Cross-Country Athletics Championship, officials said on Wednesday.
The competition, which marks a significant turning point for Pakistani athletics, will include competitors from seven South Asian countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, and the Maldives.
The government has given approval to all participating teams, including India’s, according to the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), guaranteeing a seamless procedure for foreign participation.
An AFP official declared, “This is a significant event for Pakistan’s sporting landscape,” and mentioned that the event has the required no objection certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Sports Board.
