Pakistan expressed outrage at the timing of the careless act and denounced the death of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran today.
In a statement made public today, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings, irrespective of the motives.”
Pakistan expressed its condolences to the family of Haniyeh and the Palestinian people in the statement.
The ministry said in a statement, “We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act, coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan.”
It underlined that Pakistan views the strike with serious concern and called out Israel for it.Its most recent actions jeopardize peace efforts and represent a risky escalation in a vulnerable area.
The head of the Palestinian resistance organization, Haniyeh, was assassinated at home while in Iran for the reformist president Masoud Pezeshkian’s inauguration.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced in a statement that the head of Hamas and one of his bodyguards were slain after their Tehran home was attacked.
