KARACHI: Kishmala Talat, a shooter from Pakistan, has qualified for the next Olympic Games in Paris.
Kishmala, who had previously won a bronze medal at the Asian Games, performed brilliantly in the women’s 10-meter air pistol Asian Shooting Championship in Jakarta.
Kishmala qualified for the finals with a score of 575 points in the first round. She faced up against Eshs Singh of India for the gold medal in the final round, showcasing her extraordinary expertise.
Kishmala won the silver medal and a quota place for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Razi Ahmed Khan, secretary of the Pakistan Shooting Federation, confirmed Kishmala’s accomplishment by saying that she has managed to get a spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Kishmala joined Gulfam Joseph and GM Bashir as the third shooter from Pakistan to earn an Olympic berth.
Arshad Nadeem, in addition to shooting, has secured his spot in the Olympics in athletics, while Usman Khan, an equestrian, is still in a good and stable qualifying position.
