According to the sources, PM Shehbaz will consult to choose the date of the APC, which will be focused on reviving the nation’s counterterrorism efforts in the wake of an increase in terrorist attacks. The date will be revealed later.
In response to the Central Apex Committee’s recommendations in the National Action Plan to intensify pressure on militants aiming toward Pakistan, the federal cabinet last week authorized the start of the counterterrorism operation.
According to the Prime Minister Office (PMO), all parties involved, including the provinces, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), agreed to approve the new counterterrorism campaign.
Opposition parties, on the other hand, have expressed reservations about the military operation and have demanded that parliament be taken into confidence before making any decisions. These parties include the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F), Awami National Party (ANP), and others.
The PMO underlined that “no large-scale military operation is being launched” in the nation in response to the criticism.
