Due to low pressure, the Met Office has issued a warning for “unsettled” weather over the long weekend, which could include severe winds.
After one of the wettest winters on record, rains are predicted for the Easter bank holiday, which falls between Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1.
The week before Easter is predicted to see a lot of rain, with the West and South West experiencing the wettest weather, according to Met Office forecaster Aidan McGivern.
This week has seen quite warm weather throughout the UK; on Wednesday, Surrey recorded a temperature of 18.8C.
Over the next four days, they should somewhat decrease to the March average of a maximum of 9.2C by Easter weekend.
Met Office spokeswoman Oli Claydon encouraged people to monitor the prediction while making preparations for the long weekend.
“It’s important to stay current with the forecast,” he stated. The prediction will alter thus far out as confidence grows.”
He went on to say that the present weather forecasts are “pretty typical” for this time of year.
