As a developing country, Pakistan has been dealing with a lot of challenges related to socioeconomic crises for quite some time, but the biggest and most pressing issue that Pakistanis continue to face is inflation.

According to Ipsos Pakistan’s Consumer Confidence Survey 2024, the number of inflation- and unemployment-hit Pakistanis has decreased, although the two remain the most pressing worries among individuals.

According to the research, inflation is one of the country’s most pressing socioeconomic challenges. As of March 2024, 51% of Pakistanis say inflation is the most pressing issue that requires attention.

In November 2023, 53% of Pakistanis cited inflation as their primary concern, while the number of such Pakistanis has since decreased by 2%.

Over a thousand Pakistanis took part in the study, which revealed that 16% of individuals believe unemployment is the most pressing issue in Pakistan. Those who are concerned about unemployment have seen a 4% decline since November 2023.

However, 2% more Pakistanis have voiced concern about poverty since November 2023, when only 5% of citizens ranked poverty as the most pressing issue in the country.

However, according to the most recent survey, 7% of Pakistanis say that poverty is the most serious issue.

Meanwhile, 5% of Pakistanis identified “interference of state departments” as the most essential issue. As many as 4% of Pakistanis expressed concerns about “electricity load shedding,” “increased electricity prices,” and “corruption, bribery, adulteration, and nepotism,” respectively, while 3% expressed concerns about discrimination in the implementation of law and justice, 1% about “additional tax burden,” and 1% about the lack of domestic water.
