According to James Woodroof of london, the Cherry Red Records Stadium’s field sustained “significant damage” on Sunday night when the neighboring River Wandle overflowed its banks.
The third-round Carabao Cup match scheduled for Tuesday against Newcastle United has been rescheduled until October 1 at the Premier League team’s St James’s Park stadium.
The Dons hope to move Saturday’s league match against Accrington Stanley to a different location in south London. The team has also postponed their League Two home match against Crewe Alexandra, which was originally planned for that day.
He stated that the team’s “real intention to fulfil that fixture” is to play Carlisle United on Saturday, October 12, at home.
“When I awoke, my stadium team’s visuals were there. “I assumed it was artificial intelligence, or AI,” he remarked.
“Water covered the whole stadium, including the concourse and bottom floor. It was appalling. The pitch has significant damage.
