This season, Baker participated in two County Championship games; the most recent one being in April at Kidderminster versus Durham.
After making his first-class debut in 2021, the left-armer participated in 47 matches across all forms and claimed 70 wickets.
“We are all inconsolable over the news of Josh’s passing,” declared Ashley Giles, chief executive of Worcestershire.
The manner of Baker’s death is unknown to the club.
He participated in this week’s county second match at Bromsgrove School versus Somerset, taking three wickets on Wednesday following two days of playless weather.
