On Thursday, a 5.9-magnitude earthquake rocked Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and sections of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), sending locals into a panic.
The Seismological Center estimates that the epicentre of the earthquake was 111 kilometers deep in the Hindu Kush mountain range, close to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, Kohat, Upper Dir, Malakand, Buner, Kurram, Shangla, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Attock, and Daudkhel all experienced significant tremors.
Although there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage until this report was filed, the earthquake prompted many to quickly evacuate their homes and workplaces.
