Arrest and serious charges
US musician D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been charged in connection with the death of a teenage girl who went missing last year. Authorities say he faces multiple charges including first degree murder, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness tied to an investigation.
Los Angeles prosecutors stated that the case involves complex allegations and disturbing details. Burke is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment in downtown Los Angeles.
Disappearance of the victim
The victim, 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, disappeared after she reportedly went to Burke’s home in the Hollywood Hills in April 2025. Officials say she was never seen or heard from again after that night.
Her remains were later discovered in September 2025 inside the front trunk of a Tesla linked to Burke through registration details.
Evidence described by investigators
During a press briefing, the district attorney said investigators believe the victim was killed under circumstances involving planning and concealment. Prosecutors also claim the case includes allegations of financial motive connected to Burke’s music career.
They also described the condition of the remains as severely decomposed, which made the investigation more complex.
Legal response from the defense
Burke’s legal team rejected the accusations. They stated that he did not commit the crime and denied any responsibility for the victim’s death.
His attorneys said the evidence will prove his innocence in court.
Ongoing investigation and next steps
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the case remains active. Prosecutors have not ruled out pursuing the most severe penalties available under the law.
