Sherry Rehman, prominent politician of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has stated that election results in Lahore’s seat were manipulated, in which party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was defeated by Attaullah Tarar of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to unofficial and unconfirmed statistics, Tarar received 98,210 votes in NA-127, with PPP candidate Bilawal coming in third with 15,005 votes.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Friday, Rehman stated that the results were unexpectedly modified while Bilawal was leading in the votes. She claimed that the results were delayed to manipulate the election.
Rehman also expressed concern that cellphone and internet connections were suspended on election day, causing complications for voters and candidates.
“We know very well what’s the real intent behind closing mobile services,” she said.
