After working in the profession for many years, Sharon Stone is convinced that she has earned the freedom to talk and do as she pleases. Known for speaking his mind, the 65-year-old isn’t holding back when discussing fame and acknowledging that it’s an expensive career.
For their Confidence Issue, Stone told InStyle, “It’s very expensive to be famous.”
“You go out to dinner, and the check is split among 15 individuals at the table. Who receives it? You always receive the $3,000 dinner check,” she bemoaned.
After the 1980 meeting, Sharon Stone went into a state of hysteria when a Sony executive revealed himself.
Even after her major motion picture “Basic Instinct” debuted in 1992, Stone lacked security and lived on a street with public access. She recalls being contacted by police in 1994, after the O.J. Simpson chase, and being informed that she was in danger. The circumstance was unknown to the police, so they were being extra cautious.
In the end, they advised Stone to go for a safer neighborhood. “[The police] were like, ‘Find a secure house behind a gate.’” The money she paid for the house she purchased, the extra security she engaged, and the management group she hired was substantial.
