During a soccer competition on Saturday, a lightning strike claimed the life of an Indonesian footballer.
During his game against 2 FLO FC Bandung at 4:20 p.m., Septain Raharja, a 35-year-old player for Football Boots Indonesia (FBI) Subang, was struck by lightning when he was strolling across the field, as reported by The Independent.
On camera from the Siliwangi Stadium incident, Raharja was seen collapsing to the ground right away with teammates rushing to his aid.
Raharja was apparently still breathing when he was initially examined, but after being taken to the hospital, it was determined that he had passed away. Raharja reportedly suffered a serious burn after the lightning hit, according to TMZ Sports.

It was the second time a player from Indonesia had been struck by lightning in the previous year.
A young player in the Soertain Under-13 Cup in Bojonegoro, East Java, last year was struck by lightning, according to Goal.com’s Richard Mills. The youngster was rendered comatose, yet he lived.
According to The Independent, 18-year-old Jiang Tao died in Singapore during practice in March 2004. At the time, Tao was a player for Sinchi FC.
