PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s choice for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur repeated on Monday that their party officials did not plot the May 9 assaults and urged for an investigation to establish the truth, according to The News.

Gandapur told senior journalists at the Speaker’s House in Peshawar that PTI leaders did not plot the May 9 riots and questioned why demonstrators were not prevented from destroying military sites.

“If the country benefits from my arrest, I am willing to be arrested. “Peace and security in the province are my top priorities,” stated the PTI leader. He also stated that he would go beyond politics to fight for the rights of KP.

“I don’t believe in confrontation with the federal government and would not take revenge from any government official because we have to move the province forward.”

Gandapur also stated, “I do not believe in political revenge. I will endeavor to fix the system rather than abuse or engage in vengeful politics. “All institutions, including the army and police, are ours.”

The PTI’s candidate for chief minister emphasized that there was no room for political vengeance in the province as a result of the harm done since the dissolution of the last provincial parliament. He said that the country and province were financially poor, and that law and order had worsened.

“But individuals who commit illegal conduct should be given an opportunity to amend or act will be taken against them.”

Gandapur said that if the federal government wanted to arrest him. “Then don’t wait for me to come to Islamabad, arrest me immediately here, I am ready to be arrested from Peshawar.”
