Microsoft has launched a new feature for its Windows Photos app called ‘Generative Erase’, which allows users to utilize AI to selectively remove things from photographs.
Microsoft is now on level with Google and Samsung, two businesses with similar AI-powered image editing capabilities.
Unlike other platforms, Microsoft’s solution will support Arm64 devices and be backported to Windows 10, as well as accessible for Windows 11.
Future Windows user updates will contain the changes, including background removal, which are now being evaluated by Windows Insiders.
Microsoft’s announcement does not specify if AI-edited photographs would include any distinctive watermarks or metadata.
IT companies compete to create innovative and creative AI technologies in an effort to attract clients and expand.
