On Wednesday, an Israeli drone struck a car outside the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, killing a Hamas member from the nearby Palestinian camp of Rashidieh, according to Israeli and Hamas officials.
A Hamas source who spoke with Reuters named the member as Hadi Mustafa, but said he was not a senior figure. According to Hamas’ Al Aqsa television, Mustafa is the group’s armed branch chief.
The Israeli military announced it had killed Mustafa in southern Lebanon and described him as a “significant” Hamas operator who was responsible for attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets around the world.
Two security sources reported a Syrian guy passing by on his motorcycle was also killed in the hit, contradicting earlier reports that the two victims were in Mustafa’s car.
All three reports stated that the Israeli drone hovered in the air over the hit scene for several minutes after it was carried out.
