The Chinese government has provided Pakistan with $100,000 in emergency cash assistance for rain-hit districts in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A gift ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Chinese government’s emergency relief to rain-hit districts in Balochistan and KP.
On behalf of the Chinese government, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong handed over $100,000 in emergency cash assistance to Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Mohammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, according to an official statement.
China believes that this cash offer will give timely and necessary support to the poor, it said.
The Chinese embassy, consulates, and Chinese firms in Pakistan have also taken active action by distributing 30,000 bottles of mineral water and 3,000 cans of food and other supplies to the people in Gwadar, and taken people into refuge at the Gwadar Faqur School built with China’s aid.
The Consulate General in Karachi will contribute an extra RMB 500,000 in material aid in the near future, according to the report.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a day after taking office as the country’s 24th premier on March 4, announced the federal government’s assistance package for individuals affected by the severe rains in Gwadar and other regions of the country.
