After a terrible pregnancy left her bedridden, a Texas rescue dog gave birth to almost a dozen joyful and healthy puppies.

After three days in a local shelter, the dog—named Meter Maid—was transported to Austin Pets Alive (APA) on February 11.

The APA was contacted for assistance by the shelter staff when they discovered Meter Maid was extremely pregnant, an APA official, Luis Sanchez, told News .
