GWADAR: After a group of gunmen entered the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex on Wednesday, security personnel acted quickly and repelled the ferocious attack, killing “eight terrorists” from the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), according to Geo News, quoting sources.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple explosions after firing in the complex that houses the passport office, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) headquarters, and other government offices.
An explosion was also heard before to the firing, according to police sources, who added that security forces had cordoned off the area.
A clearance operation is ongoing at the property, with security personnel present.
Meanwhile, Makran Division commissioner verified the incident and the number of terrorists killed.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah criticized the attack on the GPA complex, adding, “Elimination of the terrorists is final, and the determination of our military men is strong.”
The CPEC represents Pakistan’s future, and we will not allow it to be harmed under any circumstances, the CM continued.
Today’s strike follows a fierce terrorist attack on a security forces checkpoint in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), last week, as the country experiences an increase in similar attacks, which have resulted in the deaths of several civilians and law enforcement officials.
