Nicola Coughlan teased fans with a romantic update on Bridgerton season 3, while viewers received their first glance at Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey’s characters.
The Irish actress is excited to see her character take the lead in the upcoming season of the period drama.
On the most recent episode of The One Show, she described Penelope Featherington as “always having a terrible time” but promised that this season would bring her character the ‘transformation’ fans have been waiting for.
Bridgerton, which revolves around eight siblings looking for love, will focus this season on the story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.
Nicola stated, “It’s all changed” when asked if things were improving for her character.
“It takes eight months to film a season; everything changes, and it’s a really action-packed season. I got to see some last night, and I was ecstatic,” she said.
Highlighting that the third season will keep loyal to the book, the Derry Girls star exclaimed, “It is great, and it is written brilliantly. I’m quite proud of the actors and crew, but this is a unique one.”
