Penn Badgley made an appearance while out on a stroll in New York City, signaling the start of You’s Season 5 production.
The much awaited Netflix series For the show’s fifth and final season, you will be back. This is the first production update since the streaming giant said last year that it will be renewed.
A picture of the show’s lead actor dressed as Joe Goldberg—a structured black coat over a red Henley, black slacks, and black shoes—was posted on the show’s official Instagram account. The actor was seen strolling through the Manhattan subway station on Bleecker Street.
“The fifth and final season of YOU is currently in production,” Netflix noted in the Instagram post, “Back to where it all began.”
The Gossip Girl alum had already given fans hints about what to expect from the fifth season of the show, even though this is the first visual update from the show.
“I’ve heard you’re on the edge of your seats, waiting and theorizing about the epic conclusion to You,” he remarked at the 2023 TUDUM event.
“But more crucially, think about what—or perhaps better still, who—Joe will encounter when he eventually makes it back to New York. I’m not sure who, though. As everyone knows, Joe’s past is full of unfinished business. In the prerecorded message, he alluded to the question, “Who are you?”
