Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Rana Sanaullah, has harshly criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for how it views the coalition government in the Center, according to a Tuesday story in The News.
“The PPP will maintain its stance for the duration of the government. “Observe their response to the [appointment] issue of the chairman of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA),” Sanaullah stated during an appearance on the “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath” show on Geo News.
“It is obvious that they will each have an opinion on everything. Allies give the image of having a similar mindset. But we’ll make an effort to proceed,” he continued.
His comments follow the PPP’s vocal opposition to the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif administration’s choice to name retired grade 22 federal government officer Zafar Mahmood as the IRSA chairman.
The PPP had declared that Mehmood’s appointment under the IRSA ordinance, for a three-year term, violated constitutional norms.
In response to the worries expressed by the party led by Bilawal Bhutto, the government took a step back, with the prime minister promising to revoke the announcement on the appointment of the IRSA chief to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The former security czar emphasized that the PPP ought to have spoken with the PML-N directly before contacting the media on the matter, keeping with his party’s strategy of courting friends.
