RAWALPINDI: Terrorist groups across Pakistan have been targeting civilians and security forces, leading to a notable increase in terrorist strikes in recent months that have claimed countless lives.
But a concerning trend in recent months has been the growing use of foreign weapons by terrorist groups like Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Balochistan Liberation Army, and others. These weapons even include those that the US left behind in Afghanistan.
Washington fiercely denies Pakistan’s repeated complaints that the rapid withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan has resulted in modern weapons ending up in the hands of extremists.
However, information found on the guns and gear seized by the security forces suggests that the militants have been utilizing firearms manufactured in the United States.
