Winner of the Australian Open Sinner, runner-up in Miami in 2021 and 2023 before, defeated the Bulgarian 6-3, 6-1.
The 22-year-old wins his third title in 2024 after triumphing in Melbourne and Rotterdam.
Sinner will jump to a career-high second in the global rankings after losing just one game this season.
“It has been a very special week for me; I have faced different kinds of situations on the court and different opponents,” he stated to News Sports.
Today I had a lot of energy. I am ecstatic to be ranked second in the world. It’s only a number; what matters most to me is attempting to follow my strategy, which I was able to do.
Sinner becomes the first Italian to enter the top two since the ATP rankings were originally released in 1973, surpassing Carlos Alcaraz of Spain.
