Imran Khan’s sentences will not “sustain” in front of an impartial judge: Sanaullah.

Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Rana Sanaullah, stated that the penalties imposed on Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), were intended to harm the PML-N’s electoral campaign and would not “sustain” if considered by an impartial judge.

“Because the PTI played the victim card in those instances, the cases in which the PTI founder was jailed [before to the polls on February 8] seriously hurt us [the PML-N] in the elections. Speaking to a private television channel on Tuesday, Sanaullah stated that “the way the case proceedings were conducted and the sentences were given would not sustain before a judge who upholds principles of justice.”

The leader of the PML-N said, “The judge would either remand back the case or would exonerate him [Khan],” emphasizing that the party has no control over the outcome.

Sanaullah refuted rumors that the PTI founder was still being “facilitated” by the courts or the establishment in response to a query about statements made by other PML-N leaders.

His comments coincide with the suspension of Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s 14-year sentence in the Toshakhana case by the IHC on Monday.

Sanaullah stated he was not aware of any case where the sentences given to the PTI founder were “planned” or based on someone’s “directions” when questioned about them.
