ISLAMABAD As tensions in the area rise in the wake of Iran’s historic drone and missile strikes on Israeli land on Sunday, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi is scheduled to visit Pakistan on April 22, according to sources who spoke to Geo News on Monday.
The issues surrounding President Raisi’s visit—who will be accompanied by a high-level delegation and attend discussions with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the military leadership—have reportedly been agreed upon by Islamabad and Tehran.
His visit coincides with Tehran’s firing of over 300 drones and missiles at Israel in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on its consulate in Damascus, which claimed the lives of numerous individuals, including senior commanders of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohammed Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi.
