Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer, R-Ky., invited President Biden to testify regarding his son Hunter’s financial dealings, but the White House publicly declined.
Richard Sauber, the president’s special counsel, informed Comer in a letter on Monday that the impeachment probe is concluded, “as our office has demonstrated and you acknowledged in a recent fundraising email.” “It is past time for the House to focus on the issues that matter to the American people rather than continuing to waste time and taxpayer resources on this partisan charade.”
According to Sauber, the impeachment investigation by the House Oversight Committee “has succeeded only in turning up abundant evidence that, in fact, the President has done nothing wrong.”
President Biden formally declines to testify as the White House declares the House impeachment investigation “over.”
