KARACHI: In anticipation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s arrival to Karachi on Tuesday (today), the Karachi administration has begun to restrict roadways for security reasons.

Sharea Faisal, the major thoroughfare in the city, also has banners with greetings for Iranian President Asif Ali Zardari from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Zardari himself.

Several of the primary thoroughfares outlined in the traffic plan have been blocked off. Containers have been positioned on the roads and in the streets to obstruct the MA Jinnah Road from Guru Mandir.

The Shahra-e-Quaideen road that leads to Numaish is blocked. Additionally, containers have been positioned all around the Peoples Secretariat.

Numerous locations have seen the deployment of police troops.

On Monday, the Karachi Traffic Police declared that Sharea Faisal will remain closed on both sides.
