According to authorities, on Saturday, armed men abducted District and Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat, who was stationed in South Waziristan, from the vicinity of Tank and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The event occurred in the border village of Bagwal between Tank and DI Khan, as revealed by DI Khan Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammad Adnan. The sessions judge was returning to DI Khan after his job when it happened.
According to him, the kidnappers immediately departed the judge’s vehicle and driver.
According to the police, no one has taken credit for the judge’s kidnapping.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi responded to the regrettable event by expressing sorrow and worry.
He demanded an explanation from KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his “non-seriousness” about the creation of peace in the region.
“[The] CM should tell why isn’t he serious about establishment of peace and why are terrorists are on the loose,” he said.
