ISLAMABAD According to The News on Sunday, coalition government leaders criticized the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) for declaring that they would only engage discussions with the military establishment, calling the Imran Khan-led party’s move a “double standard.”
The announcement follows Shehryar Afridi, the senior leader of the PTI, saying on Friday that his party will have negotiations with the military establishment rather than the government.
Prominent member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Khawaja Saad Rafique, stated during a news conference in Lahore that the PTI should not demand civil dominance when it wants to negotiate with the military establishment.

“Imran Khan’s traditional behavior pattern is that his one hand is on their neck and the other on their feet,” Rafique continued, claiming that the PTI leader’s remarks regarding the negotiations had revealed the information.
The PML-N leader stated, “He cries outside that he is the flag bearer of freedom and begs for negotiations behind the door,” and that the politicians will have to talk to each other sooner rather than later.
Rafique made fun of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for saying that he wanted to take over Islamabad and asked that he retract his remarks.
