Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, called attention to the disparities in healthcare around the world on Sunday, stating that they are the primary issue.
During the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) special conference in Riyadh, PM Shehbaz talked about his experience with a “nasty cancer” during a session on the global health topic.
“I was transported to New York after being diagnosed with a very terrible malignancy called adenocarcinoid. I had to spend thousands of dollars out of pocket at the time, and I said, “Not very many people in my country could afford this kind of expensive treatment.”
Regarding the matter of worldwide healthcare disparities, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that COVID-19 significantly revealed these disparities and imbalances.
“Imagine global north and south, distribution of vaccines and so on and so forth,” he stated.
The Prime Minister then discussed Pakistan’s problems, mentioning how climate change has, in his words, drastically altered the country’s terrain.
