Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), criticized the results of the general elections held on February 8 and said that there was “manipulation of votes” and a “sell” of all legislatures “from the Sindh Assembly to the President’s House” in the nationwide polls for 2024.
Maulana Fazl remarked, “We are loyal to Pakistan, but there is no value of national loyalty here,” on Thursday night at a power show in Karachi. “It’s not just about elections; state institutions need to undergo a complete transformation.”
“Democracy has been eliminated from the country,” he criticized, pointing to purported manipulation of poll results.
He declared, “Those in charge have turned Pakistan into an American colony,” but added, “Pakistan has enough skilled laborers and natural resources to support itself.”
The senior politician claimed that they were striving for national sovereignty. The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was a multi-party alliance that successfully overthrew the government of former prime minister Imran Khan in 2022.
He claimed that a “drama” was put on in anticipation of the 2024 general elections.
According to Fazl, the JUI-F’s opponents in politics believed that the group would not be able to demonstrate against election tampering since “our movement is not only for one day or one month.”
