24 year old Noelia Voigt won the pageant the previous year and went on to represent the United States in the Miss Universe competition held in El Salvador in November.
“In life, I strongly value the importance of making decisions that feel best for you and your mental health,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“We develop as people as a result of encountering various life experiences that teach us more about who we are.
“It has been an immensely significant experience for me to represent Utah as Miss USA and then the USA in Miss Universe.
“Sadly, I have made the very tough decision to resign from the title of Miss USA 2023.”
Voigt’s resignation was accepted, according to the Miss USA contest.
