The port city of Karachi already saw intense heat today (Monday), with temperatures reaching as high as 36°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) forecast for the rest of this week.

Karachiites were scorching today, and the Met Department predicts that the temperature will rise even more over the next 24 hours, from 36°C to 38°C, while it feels like it will be between 40°C and 42°C during the hottest parts of the day.

According to the weather bureau, the capital of Sindh was currently experiencing 67% humidity with continental air coming in from the west at a speed of 14 km/h.

According to a weather analyst, there will be a heatwave in the port city for the entire week, with temperatures ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, with potential increases this weekend.

Light winds from the west and southwest will, however, be present in the city throughout this period, and humidity levels will range from 40% to 50% during the hours of maximum sunlight to 80% at night.

The analyst went on to say that until monsoon spells arrive, Karachiites will endure extreme heat with very minor daily temperature fluctuations.

The majority of the nation is experiencing continental air, according on the daily weather prediction.
