Irfan Siddiqui of PTI is knocking on doors from which they can only receive charity.

Senate President Irfan Siddiqui of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) remarked on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) was “knocking on a door from where they could only get charity” in reference to the party’s attempts to engage in discussion with the establishment.

Speaking on the “Geo Pakistan” segment of the  News show, Senator Siddiqui claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan was a reclusive person. Khan pointed up the political figure’s obstinacy by saying that he did not even shake hands with the opposition while he was in office.

He said, “I often go and sit in the PTI lobby and talk to them. I spoke about it in the Senate and presented this offer (of talks) to the PTI.”

The senator cited historic hostility between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and PML-N as evidence that both parties resolved their disagreements and engaged in dialogue.

At this point, PTI leader Waleed Iqbal, who was on the same program, stated that they had not set any conditions on the negotiations with those in actual authority and that only talks could take place with them. He added, nevertheless, that the PTI founder had stated that negotiations with the PML-N, PPP, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) would not take place.
