Following the discovery of confidential documents on social media, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated on Monday that the government has taken “strict notice of the unauthorised dissemination of sensitive and classified information”.
The federal minister posted on X, the previous Twitter platform, stating that action has been taken, especially in light of the public presentation of classified information, particularly those marked as secret.
“The spread of such information can seriously damage Pakistan’s relations with its friends and brotherly countries in addition to harming Pakistan’s strategic and economic interests,” the minister stated in his tweet.
He continued by saying that the federal government has chosen to file lawsuits under the Official Secrets Act 2023 against everyone who is connected, whether directly or indirectly, to the revelation or distribution in this situation.
