KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is having trouble deciding on its 15-man squad for the next T20 World Cup 2024 as the date for the squad release draws closer, according to sources cited by Geo News.

The announcement of the squad will take place following the May 22 T20I series opener against England, since the International Cricket Council (ICC) has established a deadline of May 25 for the announcement of the 15-member World Cup squad.

Notably, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, and Haris Rauf were all denied the opportunity to play in Ireland. During the Ireland series, Hasan Ali, who was brought in as Rauf’s backup, participated in just one game.

..

According to the reports, Rauf will need to demonstrate his complete fitness in the days leading up to the World Cup. On the other hand, Usman, Salman, and Hasan are anticipated to be added to the team as traveling reserves.

Pakistan is in Group A of the World Cup with bitter rivals Ireland, Canada, the USA, and India.

On June 6, in Dallas, the national team will play their first T20I World Cup encounter against the USA. However, the highly anticipated titanic match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, in New York.
