The Taftan and Gabd border crossings between Pakistan and Iran will remain open 24/7 to promote trade between the two countries, as stated in a statement released on Friday by Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu.

The ambassador hailed it as a significant advancement, stating that it should significantly boost the flow of commodities between the two nations and, as a result, expand economic opportunities.
Following the three-day visit of then-President of Iran, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, to Pakistan, the United States hinted at possible penalties; nonetheless, Pakistan and Iran on April 24 reaffirmed the importance of energy cooperation and power commerce.

“Pathway of prosperity”
Both nations had reaffirmed their commitment to transforming their shared border between them from a “border of peace” to a “border of prosperity.”
