As a “precautionary” measure, six16 homes in Bramley, near Guildford, have been told not to use their water supply for cooking, drinking, or tooth brushing, according to the firm.
They are still able to wash their hands and take showers with it, though.
According to Thames Water, tests on Thursday indicated “a possible deterioration in quality” of drinking water “in some areas,” which was connected to a previous gasoline spill from a gas station.
The impacted properties would receive bottled water, the firm announced on Thursday night.
Food,The Tory candidate for the constituency, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, announced that bottled water kiosks were being installed throughout the community. On the social media platform , Mr. Hunt stated that he had conversations with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), Thames Water, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), a local councillor, and Asda, the company that runs a gas station near the fuel leak.
Before the Thursday dissolution of Parliament, Bramley was a part of the Conservative-held South West Surrey constituency, which is represented by Mr. Hunt.
