ISLAMABAD Positively, as the jobless rate has decreased from the previous year, Pakistan’s economic status has improved, according to a Tuesday story from The News.
This was disclosed in the Ipsos-Pakistan consumer confidence survey 2024 second quarter report, which drew participation from over a thousand respondents nationwide.
The 2024 study found that the proportion of Pakistanis reporting unemployment dropped by 7% in the previous year.
In the meantime, the percentage of respondents who stated they had not lost their work rose by 5%, while 57% of respondents in the previous survey and 50% of respondents in the current one claimed they or someone they knew was unemployed.
While 63% of Pakistanis reported being unemployed in September 2023, the percentage of people who lost their jobs in the past year has dropped by 13% since then.
According to the report, Pakistanis’ fear of losing their jobs has decreased by 10%. 95% in September 2023, compared to 85% in the current study, who said they were afraid of losing their jobs. Pakistanis’ confidence in finding work rose from 5% to 15% throughout the same time period.
