ISLAMABAD According to sources who spoke with The News, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has been invited to formally join the government by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has opted to increase the size of the federal cabinet following the budget.

Senior political figures from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its affiliated parties would be represented in the cabinet, according to the report released today.

According to the journal, the prime minister has begun to work on adding new cabinet members and has extended an invitation to the PPP to join the government once more. Discussions are currently taking place in this respect.

Following the leadership’s decision, this issue will be brought before the Central Executive Committee (CEC), the party’s highest decision-making body, which will render the ultimate judgment.

According to the source, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has been tasked with a significant responsibility by the PML-N leadership. He has subsequently communicated with Qamar Zaman Kaira and Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, over the matter.

It is significant to remember that the PPP supported Shehbaz Sharif for prime minister but declined to join the PML-N combination in the Punjab and the Center following the elections.

According to a formula agreed upon with the PML-N, the PPP had first chosen not to accept any ministries and to limit itself to solely constitutional and legislative posts.

But the party has declared that it would like to become a member of the Punjab government provided it was given “a proper share”.
