The PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s acquittal in the cipher case has been contested by the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) in the Supreme Court.
The ruling of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) was appealed to the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a key leader of the party, have had their sentences in the high-profile cipher case postponed by the Islamabad High Court.
Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb, who chaired the IHC division bench, announced their reserved ruling.
Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood have both been cleared by the court of all allegations in the cipher case. It was decided to render their sentences void.
Prior to now, the court had postponed ruling on the PTI leaders’ pleas against their convictions in the well-known cipher case. The CJ chaired the hearing, which got underway earlier on Monday.
